In Kind Gifts
Looking to give to SILO in an unconventional way?
Below is a list of supplies we use often if you’d like to make a donation:
- Birthday, anniversary, get well, sympathy and seasonal cards
- Craft supplies, especially markers, scissors, tape and glue
- Paper products for meals (plates, utensils, napkins, cups, etc)
- Small gifts to give to SILO friends for their birthday, home warming or new baby (plants, sweets, new blankets, spa toiletries)
- Gift cards for gas. We often help friends get to doctor appointments, the laundromat and grocery store. Gas gift cards help keep the expenses low.
- Gift cards to local restaurants. We occasionally take a SILO friend out for lunch to get to know them or to appreciate the hard work they have offered. Sometimes we take a local homeless person out to eat so they can get a warm meal.
- Tools for home repairs including: pressure washer, lawn mower and a weed eater.

“Every SILO dinner is a reminder that food tastes better when shared with friends. A SILO meal becomes a celebration of community.” – Marge
“Andrea didn’t give up in helping me as a mom of seven wonderful kids to start over and rebuild her life after leaving her home due to domestic violence. I had tried to leave, but due to not having income and transportation it became hard. Andrea helped me find a job and a place to rebuild. You have no idea what all this means to me. Thank you” – Maria
